  16. Everyone recommends to eat 1200 calories to lose weight if you arent morbidly obese(really morbidly obese people should eat less). I dont know why people would freak out about you doing that.

    Eating at 1200 calories for short amounts of time is okay but I wish Kisha would recommend talking to your doctor or dietitian. In the long term it can have affects on your organs and other bodily functions. Especially if you're active. I know this isn't going to be taken easily but I have personally gone through issues related to eating a diet of 1200-1300 calories. There's a reason the FDA sets 1200 as the minimum recommendation.

    Also there are many women of color in this thread, and we have more muscle mass according to science. You're likely losing muscle mass with the low calories because you're not giving the body enough to sustain itself. So it will take energy away from gaining muscle or maintaining it first, then it will move on to organs etc. If you notice light headedness, black out, feel energy-less then you should definitely up your calories. DIeting on the highest amount of calories that results in a weight loss of 1-2 lbs per week is optimal for long term health.

    You don't have to believe me. Just make sure you talk to your doctor or another health professional. The warning are there for a reason.

    The pie chart calories don't match the calories presented. 42g fat and 42 g protein plus 225 carbs is over 1400 calories. Which is probably healthier for her since she's active.
